How do I know it's time to enter therapy?

  • When you've tried solving your problems but find that you remain stuck.  When you no longer enjoy the things you used to enjoy, are tired constantly and can't concentrate.  When your life becomes unmanageable.  When you're angry, sad, dissatisfied and don't know why.  This is the time to enter therapy.

How do I select a therapist?

  • Look for someone who is licensed and comes highly recommended by an organization or person you trust.  Look for someone who is experienced and with whom you feel comfortable talking.  Call the therapist and  monitor your comfort level with him/her.  How informed does he/she seem about your issues?  Are they located near your work or home?  Were they able to talk to you in a timely manner after your initial phone call, is their fee reasonable, do they accept your insurance?
